A 100 MILE RUNNING RELAY FROM RICHMOND TO WILLIAMSBURG AND BACK AGAIN!

OCTOBER 7, 2017

What is it?

100-mile running relay from Richmond to Williamsburg and back on the Virginia Capital Trail, a dedicated, paved pedestrian and bicycle trail that connects Virginia’s past and present capitals.

How does it work?

Teams of 6, or 4 for Ultra Racers, cover 100-miles running the Virginia Capital Trail by tag-teaming the distance, relay style. Your team van drops off one runner at a time to take on one of the 18 legs of the race.  After dropping your runner, the van and remaining team members drive ahead to the next exchange zone to meet the runner, exchange the timing chip and cheer on the next runner.  Each team member runs 3-legs which range in distance from 3.5-mi to 8.5-mi. Depending on your team’s strategy, an individual runner could run as short as 10.5-miles,  as long as 24.5-miles or anything in between.
