FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)
How does it work?
Teams of 6, or 4 for Ultra Racers, cover 100 miles running the Virginia Capital Trail by tag-teaming the distance, relay style. Your Team Vehicle drops off one runner at a time to take on one of the 18 legs of the race. After dropping your runner, the remaining team members drive ahead in the Team Vehicle to the next Exchange Zone to meet the runner, exchange the timing chip and cheer on the next runner. Each team member runs 3 legs, which range in distance from 3.5 mi. to 8.5 mi. Depending on your team’s strategy, an individual runner could run as short as 10.5 miles, as long as 24.5 miles, or anything in between.
Where is the start/finish?
The start and finish of the race will be at Urban Farmhouse in Richmond, 3015 Norfolk St, Richmond, VA 23230, near the start of the Virginia Capital Trail. Urban Farmhouse will also host the finish and post race party.
Where do we get a van?
You have a few options:
- 1. Bring your own – provided you are within the size restrictions (see the Rules), you are welcome to use your own van or SUV.
