Athlete Guide 2013

REV3 Welcome

Revolution3 Welcome’s you to Knoxville, Tennessee the Volunteer State and our first race of the 2013 triathlon season.

Welcome triathletes, volunteers, spectators, family, and friends to Knoxville! You will notice the Sunsphere as the backdrop to the weekend’s festivities. The Sunsphere was a symbol of the 1982 World’s Fair which was one of the most successful in US history. Where the fair took place is our expo for the weekend, World’s Fair Park!

Knoxville is also home to the University of Tennessee Volunteers, you will see a lot of Orange around town considering our race and expo is within a couple of miles from campus.  You can visit the University of Tennessee campus or check out the many restaurants on “the strip” aka Cumberland Avenue.  You can also go to Market Square which is walking distance from the expo. This is a great spot for a pre or post race meal.  For information and directions to all of these restaurants visit us at the information tent in the Rev3 Expo and we will have maps for everyone.

Revolution3 is excited to be back to Knoxville for our fourth year with our Olympic and Half distance triathlon on Sunday May 5, 2013. Up to 50 Professional  Triathletes will be competing for a prize purse of $50,000 in the Olympic distance. Knoxville will also be our AGE GROUP CHAMPIONSHIP venue in 2014!

Thank you for choosing Rev3!

Our goal at Revolution3 is to maximize the enjoyment for everyone at the race! So weather you are competing, volunteering, or spectating we intend to make it a memorable experience.

There is much going on though out the World’s Fair Park and the Rev3 Outdoor and Family Expo. Be sure to read our enclosed Schedule of Events that includes practice swims, course overviews, expo details, kid’s activities, and ALL the important race day information.

On behalf of the Revolution3 Team enjoy Knoxville and thanks again for adding Revolution3 to your race calendar.

Happy and Safe Racing-

Pilot / Flying J Welcome

pilot flying j web logo Pilot / Flying J WelcomeOn behalf of the over 20,000 Pilot Flying J employees in the USA and Canada, I welcome you to the City of Knoxville, Knox County and the State of Tennessee! Knoxville is the hometown of Pilot Flying J (for over 50 years) and we are excited to welcome the Rev3 Family. I am confident you will find the people of Knoxville and all of East Tennessee to be hospitable, open and friendly. The natural beauty of this area makes for a superior backdrop for your triathlon and I hope you are able to enjoy the vistas and the impressions, even as you compete. When Pilot Flying J was considering our sponsorship for the 2012 season, we were excited about your brand loyalty. Rev3 Cedar Point and Rev3 Anderson champion Andy Starykowicz told us that in thanks for our sponsorship, he decided to fuel and stop only at Pilot Flying J as he drove back and forth across the country. We hope that you will make the same decision as Andy and patronize our Pilot Travel Centers and Flying J Travel Plazas across the United States and Canada. Here are some ways you can do that:

Follow the directions at myrewards.pilotflyingj.com to register your card you received in your registration packet. If you did not receive one, you may pick one up at any participating Pilot or Flying J location.
