The HalfREV bike course is a challenging but fair course with beautiful views, scenic climbs, technical descents on great county roads with little traffic.  It takes a few miles to get out of the city and the first noticeable climb is encountered around mile 5 with the second climb coming around mile 11.  The next significant climb comes at mile 21 followed by one at mile 24, then mile 38 with the final one coming at mile 47.  It is flat and fast coming back to T2.  All in all, there are 4,000 feet of gain and loss.

The OlympicREV mimics the HalfREV course for the first 9.5 miles and the last 14 miles with only 2 significant climbs on this course happening at mile 5 and mile 15.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTES FOR PRE RACE BIKING:

There is a set of railroad tracks on Neyland Drive, these are about 0.5 miles from the transition. These tracks are not on the race course and will be marked prior to race day. PLEASE BE CAREFUL when crossing these railroad tracks, we recommend you unclip and walk your bike over the tracks.  Every year we have had SEVERAL athletes get injured on these tracks before their race, make sure this is not YOU!

There is a section on the bike course that involves going the opposite way on the highway, this will not be available to race before race day. Please do not attempt to follow the course prior to race morning.

The Olympic Bike course will be marked with GREEN signs and GREEN duct tape arrows on the ground.  There will be a progression of duct tape arrows on the ground before every turn and then a progression of duct tape arrows on the ground after every turn.
