Bike Course

Overview:

The bike course starts out flat and fast before taking riders into a series of rolling hills, giving them the chance to experience the beauty of the surrounding Maine farmland and countryside.  Tall pine trees provide shade over much of the course, which winds through Saco, Dayton, Lyman, Waterboro, Hollis, and Old Orchard Beach.

“As a destination for outdoor enthusiasts, we are thrilled the Revolution3 Triathlon is coming to Portland in 2011,” said Jeff Miller, president and CEO, Travel Portland.  “Competitors will swim, bike and run through Portland’s unique urban setting, while those traveling to support them will find tax-free shopping and culinary options to fill their stay.”

Swim Course

Overview:

Old Orchard Beach is a beautiful 7-mile strip of sandy beach that has operated for more than 170 years.  The beach welcomes families and tourists alike, encouraging them to take advantage of weekly fireworks and concerts, fishing, whale watch tours, top-notch golf and more.  The crown jewel of Old Orchard Beach is it’s pier, which stretches out nearly 500 feet over the Atlantic Ocean.

Official Course Preview Clinic - Join Us!

The course previews are designed to showcase the key features of the Rev3 Maine races, including the Rev Half, Rev Oly, and SheJams Oly. We will begin with a course talk where we’ll be discussing the transition area, swim start and finish, swim, bike, and run courses as well as the race finish.

The swim course preview will begin with previewing the swim start and swimming at Old Orchard beach in the same location where the race course will be set. Pending on tides, buoys will be set out to assist with sighting and provide guidance. It will conclude with previewing the swim finish and the brief run up to the transition area.

Overview

It's almost impossible not to have fun at Old Orchard Beach. The low surf makes this a favorite spot for swimming, sunbathing, and making new friends. When the kids get hungry they can explore the boardwalk for pizza, french fries, hot dogs and cheeseburgers, or you can choose from the many family style restaurants around town. Try your luck on the video games, jump on a ride, treat yourself to an ice cream or a cold soda. Thrills, chills and frills-take your pick or do it all. <read more>
