REV3 Runs Across America to Fight Cancer

Revolution3 triathlon is excited to announce “Run Across America”. On Monday, March 26 the Rev3 staff will begin an epic journey across America. Ten people, 21 days, 3121 miles, one goal: to raise $100,000 for the Ulman Cancer Fund.

The adventure begins March 26 in Oceanside, California.

A team of Rev3 staff members will traverse the countryside, on foot. Along the way, they will be joined by members of the Rev3 race team as well as inspirational runners whose lives have been in some way, shape or form, been affected by cancer.

Ulman Cancer Fund

The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults Patient Navigation Program offers comprehensive health services to young adult patients, working in conjunction with multi-disciplinary medical care teams, social work staff, and other care providers. The program is currently administered at the University of Maryland Greenebaum Cancer Center, the Sandra & Malcolm Berman Cancer Institute at Greater Baltimore Medical Center and Georgetown Hospital’s Lombardi Cancer Center. UCF is also in the process of implementing their programs at additional hospitals including Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Alvin & Lois Lapidus Cancer Center at Sinai Hospital.

There are several ways to get involved. The first is by giving. A pledge system will be set up online via both Rev3 triathlon and Ulman Cancer Fund. Make a pledge of a penny, nickel, or more for each mile team Rev3 runs and help us reach our goal. Another way to get involved? Be a relief runner! Track our progress online, meet us in our travels across America, and log some long miles for a few days!

The journey will end on April 16 in Washington DC at the Georgetown Hospital’s Lombardi Cancer Centers.

Join us for a time of celebrating and sharing. It is sure to be an epic end to an epic adventure, in classic Rev3 style. Our run website and fundraising page will go live on January 2nd, 2012.
