Pro triathletes looking for a new challenge and an innovative way to experience their triathlon series should look no further than the new Revolution3 Triathlon Pro race series.
The Pro race series highlights three Olympic distance races throughout the season, at Knoxville, Wisconsin and Maine, along with four half-distance races, at Quassy, Williamsburg, Florida and the brand new Branson race. Pros are invited to collect points at a minimum of three of these events, with the option of gaining additional loyalty points by competing in additional races.
The Championship event will be held at the 2014 Knoxville race with a blended distance race, likely to consist of a 1 mile swim, a 35 mile bike and a 9 mile run. Instead of a prize purse at every race, the purses will now be consolidated into the seven eligible races of the series, most totalling $50k, with Rev3 Quassy totaling $100k. Additionally, $5k worth of bonuses will be awarded for fastest split times.
Pros will get even more benefits courtesy of Rev3, with additional exposure for themselves and their sponsors via full page ads in Triathlete Magazine, dedicated bib numbers and individualized posters in transition. Series Pros will also receive full page profiles on the Rev3 website, along with having their race reports published and promoted via the same venue.
Rev3 has grown at an amazing rate since its inception five years ago, and Pros are taking notice:
“Ever since I did my first Rev3 race in 2011, I’ve been hooked!
The venues, the support and the way they treat their athletes are all top notch and all reasons I’m racing!
If you’ve never done one, you don’t know what you’re missing.
I also love that they give back to the community, with awesome fundraisers like the Run Across America for the Ulman Cancer Fund. I’m excited to gun for the overall series this year.”
Angela Naeth - Pro Triathlete
(Confirmed for the 2013 Pro Series)
“I am extremely excited to include a number of the Rev3 Races on my schedule in 2013.
I’ve been so impressed with the quality of the Rev3 Quassy event over the past two years: a super challenging course but with a fun, laid-back vibe and family-friendly atmosphere. I remember thinking after my first Quassy race, “Wow, that was just a really fun weekend. I’m definitely doing that race again.”
Rev3 Triathlon supports their athletes in so many ways beyond the race itself with things like amazing media hype leading into a race, as well as race-day coverage both online and television broadcast, which is awesome!
I had a friend tell me just the other day, “I saw you on TV the other day at some race in Connecticut!”
So, I can’t wait to check out a number of their other races such as the Williamsburg Half, the Wisconsin Olympic, the new Branson Half, and the finale in Florida in November. Hopefully with these races on my schedule, I can get myself in a position to battle for the Rev3 Series Title at the championship race they will hold next spring.”
