Rush (18+)

The REV3 Rush 18-24 category is a triathlon distance of:

250-meter swim,  5-mile bike, and 1.5-mile run

The swim is in a 25-meter pool in the center of the raceway.  Each swimmer gets their own lane for the duration of the swim (no snake swimming required). The bike travels along the NASCAR track where drafting IS allowed, however, it is not required.  The run circles the infield of the track and takes athletes past the grandstands and fans 3 times. Each athlete will have the opportunity to race a minimum of three races (Prelim A Heats plus a Relay on Saturday; Prelim B Heats on Sunday). Prelim B Heats are not mandatory if the athlete is satisfied with their Prelim A time.  The fastest 30 times from each age group from the Prelim heats race in the Semi-Finals Sunday at noon, with the fastest Semi-final times competing in the Finals Sunday evening.

The cost of the relay is included in the athlete’s entry fee.  Relay teams register on-site during the day on Saturday.

The dynamic style of this distance of racing is engaging and centered in an arena so to be spectator friendly. Once the heat exits the pool, and is onto the bike, the next heat goes off.  The action will be high and the energy full throttle.

Each athlete can race a minimum of two races and a maximum of six races, with various races through the preliminary heats and relays. The fastest times will move on to a semi or final heat. Each athlete has the option of racing in a relay which is included in the athlete’s entry fee. The Elite Category finals will consist of an exciting swim/bike/run/swim/bike/run event. “When I started triathlons in 2001 I was fortunate enough to be able to compete in the super sprint series that was being run in Australia at the time, there was a steep learning curve but one that I am thankful for. The skill set you gain from the fast and furious sprint racing is invaluable, and I am excited that Rev3 is offering these same experiences for juniors as well as the pros.” ~ Mirinda Carfrae, 3x World Champion <read more>
