the end of high altitude
- day 7
The RAA team has successfully made its way into New Mexico with the last few days being some of the hardest we have encountered. We changed things up today by combining the teams together to make one team. We had a great day, accomplished a lot of miles, and created some more rest for the team. We will conquer 80 more tomorrow as one big team, then as we welcome a few new guest runners, we will split back up to two teams. We climbed to almost 8,000 feet and have been running the last few days between 5,000 to 8,000 feet. 1050 miles have been run so far which brings us a third of the way to our final destination, Washington, DC. Texas and Oklahoma are next up. We have met some of the most amazing people along the way. Strangers come up to us constantly showing their support and donating to our cause. The constant honks from cars and trucks gives a smile and spring to our step. We continue to welcome new runners, guest runners, and say goodbye to old and new friends we’ve met along the way…….thank you Brian, Brock, Kelsey, Harmony, Carole, Jay, Meg, Alisa, Mike, Joe, Cassie, Ashley’s friends and Albuquerque Running Club. We are so grateful to you that you joined us in this epic adventure. You mean so much to us…..THANK YOU!
