Did you know Wisconsin Dells was named the #1 family vacation destination in the U.S. and #3 in the world in the 2010 Travelers’ Choice Awards from TripAdvisor.com? We were thrilled and stunned (in a good way) and humbled. We think it has everything to do with, well, everything there is to do here in the Dells.
Wisconsin Dells is situated in Wisconsin’s Heartland, in the middle of the southern half of the state. It’s about 115 miles north west of Milwaukee and about 50 miles north of Madison.
The Wisconsin Dells community is made up of the City of Wisconsin Dells and the Village of Lake Delton. Totaling just over 19 square miles, our destination may have just 5,579 permanent residents, but we can host more than 50,000 guests per day. The Dells welcomes approximately 3 million visitors annually. Wisconsin Dells has more hotel rooms than any other city in the state, at just over 8,000. There are also 19 campgrounds with nearly 3,200 sites.
