Swim Course

Overview:

The swim portion of the race will take place in picturesque Lake Delton, accessing the lake at the Tommy Bartlett Ski Show, featuring stadium seating that gives spectators a unique view of the swim leg of the race, unlike any other triathlon event.

“We are excited that REVOLUTION3 selected Wisconsin Dells as a 2012 race location.  Not only will the participants have an opportunity to compete in an outstanding and challenging event, but they are certain to enjoy all of the area’s many leisure activities and beautiful scenery as well.”

- Alison L. Huber of the Wisconsin Dells Visitor & Convention Bureau, Inc.

Bike Course

Overview:

The bike course follows the shore of Lake Delton as it heads out to rural Wisconsin, offering challenging terrain while providing athletes a prime view of the beautiful countryside. The lollipop style course heads south through the City of Baraboo, birthplace of the Ringling Bros. Circus. Once through Baraboo, riders climb their first of several hills as they pass Devil’s Lake State Park. A nice long, steady descent brings them closer to Bluff Road and Devil’s Head resort, where riders face their most challenging climb. Down Tower Road for a fast and technical descent, riders continue clockwise to Beich Road, for a third climb. Then riders head west on a new section of course for 2013 that features some rolling hills on County Highway W. Then it’s back to the Waterpark Capitol of the World over one last hill.

“As a destination for outdoor enthusiasts, we are thrilled the Revolution3 Triathlon is coming to Portland in 2011,” said Jeff Miller, president and CEO, Travel Portland.  “Competitors will swim, bike and run through Portland’s unique urban setting, while those traveling to support them will find tax-free shopping and culinary options to fill their stay.”

Run Course

Overview:

The run course circles Lake Delton, but not before a challenging out-and-back section on County A and Bunker Road. The course features long climbs start at mile 2.25 that will challenge even the seasoned triathlete. Before returning to the finish line at Noah’s Ark, runners finish the circumnavigation of Lake Delton and finish the final mile along the Wisconsin Dells Parkway. NOTE: Runners will run against traffic on the out and back section.
