July 13, 2016 – Revolution3 (REV3) Triathlon is thrilled to announce a new race in the beautiful destination Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. On October 1, 2017, a series of races will take place to appeal to triathletes and their families, including HalfREV, OlympicREV, SprintREV, 5k and 10k runs.

The races will start and finish from the Puntacana Resort & Club. The crystal clear blue water makes for a pleasant swim in approximately 80 degree calm water. It’s also unique that the swim course doesn’t get deeper than 5 feet making if very safe. The bike course takes place over flat well-paved roads which should make for a fast course. The majority of the bike course will be closed off to traffic. Once onto the flat run course, athletes will have beautiful views throughout making this one amazing triathlon destination.

Besides the races, we will have pre and post-race activities for families to welcome them to beautiful Punta Cana. Direct flights are available from many major airports throughout the US, Latin America, and Europe. The airport is conveniently located in the heart of Punta Cana making it a very short shuttle ride to your hotel.

We’re happy to add this amazing destination to our family of races. We fell in love with the community, location, and everything Punta Cana has to offer, especially for our athletes and their families. Kheel, the late prominent New York attorney and labor mediator, created a partnership to construct a resort and real estate community that respects the natural habitat of Punta Cana while offering a world-class vacation experience. Maintaining a dedication to sustainable tourism, Puntacana Resort & Club has since grown to encompass over 26 square miles and now includes luxury boutique hotel Tortuga Bay; The Westin Puntacana Resort & Club; the Four Points by Sheraton Puntacana Village; the Six Senses Spa; newly inaugurated Oscar de la Renta Tennis Center; Puntacana Ecological Foundation; The Puntacana Foundation; five residential communities (Corales, Hacienda, Marina, Arrecife, and Tortuga); a full-service marina; eight restaurants; a shopping village; 45 holes of championship golf over two golf courses and Punta Cana International Airport, a modern facility that incorporates innovative and eco-friendly design. In 1997, Julio Iglesias and Oscar de la Renta joined the Group as co-investors and have made PUNTACANA Resort & Club their home.
